Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
VMWare Smart Assurance IP: DisplayName and Description values are displayed with non-printable Characters
Unicode Characters are shown as 2 squares in IP Domain Manager

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

This is a device agent issue. The agent is sending wrong characters that are not converted properly prior to being displayed in the IP Domain . 

The hex-to-String converter is used to convert Display Name and Device Description values received from the agent .

Please contact the device vendor to address this issue.
