Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When discovering the Juniper T1600 (sysoid .1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.1.1.1.2.37), there are some cards not being discovered.
When looking at the SNMP, the oid entries can be located:

snmpwalk -v 2c -c <community string> <device IP address> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.1.13.1.5

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.2636.3.1.13.1.5.8.1.1.0 = STRING: "LCC0 PIC: 4x OC-192 SONET XFP @ 0/0/*"
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.2636.3.1.13.1.5.8.1.2.0 = STRING: "LCC0 PIC: 10x10GE(LAN/WAN) SFPP @ 0/1/*"

One can see from the walk of the jnxFruName above, the jnxFruType is showing as PIC and the jnxFruState is showing as Online.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

Currently implementation of the PIC cards are done based of the presence of the FPC card.
The reason being that PIC cards are installed on the FPC card in the Juniper networks.
The logic currently used is in line with the Vendor product documentation.
In this environment, the PIC cards are present without the FPCs.
Thus the PIC cards wasn't created.

Resolution

Submitted TASC 304490 to address recertification of the device.
