A customer wants to know if Smarts OTM can alarm for both Signal Degrade(SD) and Loss of Signal(LOS) simultaneously?

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

One alarm seems to clear the other and they are never seen simultaneously

Resolution

For the same Object/Interface both Signal Degrade(SD) and Loss of Signal(LOS) cannot be raised simultaneously. If SD is raised, then LOS will be cleared and vice-versa. This is the expected behavior of the product
