This article explains how to manage a standalone VMware ESX Server in Smarts Server Manager 9.2 where VMware vCenter is not present in the environment.

To manage a standalone VMware ESX Server (without vCenter), do the following:
  1. In the Configure EISM credentials window select Virtual Center.
  2. Use the standalone ESX server credentials instead of the vCenter credentials, and add the ESX Host, Userid and Password as normal.
  3. Select Apply credential with testing.
