Follow the below steps to change line "Expiration" to the value required on <BASEDIR>/SAM/smarts/conf/icoi/trap_mgr.conf file using sm_edit:
  1. ./sm_edit ../conf/icoi/trap_mgr.conf
  2. Update the defaults section with the new expiration time:
    BEGIN_TRAP <Enterprise OID> <Generic Trap Number> <Specific Trap Number>
    ClassName: SNMPTrap
    Category: SNMPTrap
    InstanceName: $SYS$
    EventName: $E$ $N$ $S$
    Severity: 2
    EventText: Varbinds: $V*$
    Expiration: 84600
    State: NOTIFY
    InMaintenance: FALSE
    ClearOnAcknowledge: TRUE
    EventType: MOMENTARY
    SysNameOrAddr: $A$
    UnknownAgent: IGNORE
    LogFile: NONE
    END_DEFAULTS

This Expiration time is an unsigned integer.

<Enterprise OID>: The OID the trap uses for identification
<Generic Trap Number>:  The first number after the enterprise OID the identifies the generic class of the trap
<Specific Trap Number>:  The second number after the enterprise OID that identifies the specific type of trap
