Symptoms:


Trap adapter does not start

Trap adapter service fails to starts when the Adapter Platform (OI) domain is not running and registered with the broker

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The Smarts Adapter Platform (OI) domain listed in the Trap Adapter service definition (for example: -s INCHARGE-OI) is not running and not registered with the broker

Resolution

This is expected behavior with current releases as of July 2015.  It is planned that in a future patches there will be added functionality so that the Trap service will wait for OI to start and attach to the broker.
