This article explains the meaning of the PingUnresponsive event generated from the Smarts Server Manager domain.

PingUnresponsive event is generated from the Smarts Server Manager domain even though the host is not down.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The Host PingUnresponsive Event is generated in Smarts Server Manager when the Host in question has not been discovered in Smarts IP.
 

Resolution

To address this issue, add the host to the Smarts IP domain with which the Smarts Server Manager domain is syncing. Once you add the host to the Smarts IP domain and it is discovered correctly in Smarts IP, the PingUnresponsive event should get cleared from Smarts Server Manager.
