How to understand the Initial Discovery Process



There are four phases of Discovery:

1. Initial ICMP/SNMP
2. Destination
3. Discovery Probing
4. Post-Processing

 Phase 1

For Initial Discovery to complete we need the following:

During Discovery Phase Smarts will review for the following:

• Containment
• VLAN Membership
• Bridge
• HSRP
• VRRP
• IP Network
• Virtual Router
• Neighbor
• Health Probes

 Phase 4 During Post-Processing the following are highlights of what occurs:
