The "Model" attribute is empty for devices in Server Manager (ESM)
Smarts 10.X / 2.X
SMARTS Server Manager (ESM) subscribes to a specified SMARTS IP domain in order to build its topology. Attributes such as Model are also populated if the data is available in the underlying IP domain. If the data is not available in the underlying SMARTS IP domain, then the SMARTS Server Manager cannot not be updated either.
In this case, the underlying SMARTS IP domain was discovering the Host via ICMPONLY, therefore was not able to learn the Model of the device.
Enabling SNMP discovery of the device populated the Model attribute in the SMARTS IP domain as well as the SMARTS Server Manager domain following a subsequent Discovery.
MIB2 and HostResources MIB are required for proper discovery and monitoring of SMARTS Server Manager devices.
