Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


The Smarts Global Console windows open but end up off of the viewable portion of the screen.  The application will sometimes remember those screen positions which can make it hard to get the window back in the viewable area of the screen.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The window can inadvertently be dragged off the viewable screen.  Also, a system with dual monitors may not reposition the window if one of the monitors is removed.

Resolution

Windows allows these hidden windows to be repositioned using keyboard commands (since the mouse cannot used off the viewable screen).

Here are the steps:

1) Click the taskbar item for the hidden window.
2) Press Alt+Spacebar
3) Press 'M'
4) Use the arrow keys to reposition the window to bring it back to the viewable screen.
