Issue/Introduction

Can the Smarts Trap Adapter, parse a Varbind that specifies an IP address and then use that IP address as the Source IP for the Trap.
Use case: User has a third party application that monitors devices and can be configured to generate a trap. However the Source IP address of the trap is in a varbind.

Environment

Smarts - 10.1.x

Cause

Smarts will use the Source IP address of the trap as indicated by the trap, as Smarts follows the standard RFC 1215 for SNMP Traps as specified in following links:
Request for Comments: 1215
Request for Comments: 3413
Per RFC 1215, it does not allow the Source IP address of the trap to be reviewed from a varbind, and not the used as the Source IP address for the trap.

Resolution

Smarts will use the Source IP address of the trap as indicated by the trap, as Smarts follows the standard RFC 1215 for SNMP Traps. Smarts cannot review the varbind for a Source IP address and then change the trap's actual Source IP address.
There is no resolution for this request.  It does not follow the RFC Standards presented at this time.
