Smarts SAM: Webconsole launches without any notifications; Cannot see any notifications in the webconsole; Error "Processed xxxx Notifications..." seen on notification console

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Cannot see any notifications in the webconsole.

Users are able to launch the webconsole, but there are no notifications displayed and the following error- "Processed 50000 Notifications..." is seen. The console then fully launches - i.e. the topology browser loads properly etc, just does not show up any notifications.

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The issue is seen because the JRE version was not compatible with the newly compiled code of SAM for the webconsole.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, kindly use the JRE 1.7 Update 25 as the JRE version for the browser and set the Java heap size as -Xmx1024M.
