Domains dead and running out of File Handles

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

During discovery some ASL files create a ACT_SNMP instance. This instance is used to send SNMP commands. It has a start and stop method. Many of the ASL files invoke the start method and fail to stop the instance. This leads to growth of file descriptors.

The discovery thread id is part of the instance name.

Resolution

This has been fixed in version 9.5.1.0
