Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Provisioning requests fail with "EBS topics are not registered"

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.x

Cause

An old cache of authentication token prevents some services to recover after database fail-over event. To resolve the issue their configuration is modified to not cache the authentication token on startup.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue.

A resolution for this issue is being evaluated for inclusion in a future release.

Workaround:

Important

These steps apply only to version 8.0.0 of VMware vRealize Automation.  Do not apply these steps to any version later than 8.0.0.

Prerequisites

  1. Backup all Prelude virtual appliance nodes.
  2. Upload the "vra-8.0.0-VEBS-255.pl" script to each Prelude virtual appliance node in the same directory.
  3. Verify that the script is owned by the root account and has permissions mask 700.

Workaround

  1. SSH login to one of the nodes and execute the "vra-8.0.0-VEBS-255.pl" script. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. Once the patch is installed successfully, execute "/opt/scripts/deploy.sh" on one of the nodes to apply the new changes and restart the services.
