[HCX] Increase the Cloud HCX manager hardware to improve MON scalability

Issue/Introduction

This article would provide details to collect information to increase the HCX Cloud Manager hardware.

Symptoms:
Customer is looking to improve their MON scalability and requires an increase in hardware for the Cloud HCX Manager.

Cause

The customer wishes to implement a MON architecture that would be deemed too taxing for the default Cloud HCX Manager VM's resource configurations, hence a scale up of the Cloud HCX Manager is required. After looking at the requirements in KB - HCX - Mobility Optimized Networking (MON) scalability guide (88401) (vmware.com) - it was determined that the Cloud HCX Manager hardware must be increased to improve MON scalability.

Resolution

To increase the HCX Cloud manager hardware to improve the MON scalability, collect the below information and create a VMC Support Request providing the information and the ask to increase the HCX Cloud Manager hardware. 

• Current resources configured
• Hardware requirements that need to be increased within the Cloud HCX VM
• The total number of VMs with MON enabled and the total number of Network Extensions with MON enabled currently
• Maintenance window to perform the required change. Expect 1 hour downtime generally
