Issue/Introduction
Provide best practices recommendations for managing internet EIPs allocated for HCX infrastructure in a VMC on AWS SDDC.
Resolution
EIPs no longer in use should be removed from the HCX "externalNetwork" network profile and released from SDDC allocation via the VMC on AWS Console. Refer to HCX User Guide for more details on that configuration.
Under certain conditions, traffic destined to an unused EIP may inadvertently reach the NSX Edge in the SDDC, which could trigger "ICMP Unreachable" responses that would create unnecessary workload and may be misrouted.
