HCX plug-in not loading on vCenter 7.0 U3

Issue/Introduction

Identify a known compatibility issue between HCX and vCenter 7.0 U3, and to provide a resolution and workaround

Symptoms:

The HCX plug-in will fail to load on vCenter running version 7.0 U3

Cause

vCenter version 7.0 U3 requires the HCX Connector or Cloud Manager to run version 4.2.4 or later for full compatibility.

Resolution

Upgrade the HCX Connector or Cloud Manager to version 4.2.4 or later.

VMC users running SDDC version 1.16 or later are required to upgrade their HCX deployment.

Workaround:

Connect to the HCX Standalone UI via HTTPS directly to the HCX Connector or Cloud Manager.

VMC users refer to KB 86169 for recommendation on how to enable direct access into the HCX Cloud Manager in the SDDC to proceed with the upgrade.

Impact/Risks:
This issue only impacts the ability to use to the HCX UI through vCenter.
