Issue/Introduction

The below message is displayed during  bulk Migration validation check,

Message : "Non VMware or out of date tools detected on [VM name]. HCX will attempt a graceful shutdown"

Cause

This message is displayed in the following cases.

• Your VM using open-vm-tools(OVT).
• Your VM using older vmware-tools than ESXi host version.

Resolution

You may proceed with the bulk migration without updating VMware Tools to the latest version.

• Currently there is no resolution for OVT issue.
• Requirements for bulk migration is that virtual machines must have VMware Tools installed. It is strongly recommended to run the latest version of VMware Tools, as this helps avoid known issues that may have already been addressed in newer releases, ensuring smoother operations and minimizing the risk of delays.
