Issue/Introduction

This article describes the steps to diagnose and fix problems encountered during a Cloud Proxy upgrade.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.16 and later

Resolution

To update Aria Operations Cloud Proxies to the latest version, complete the steps below.
Note: Ensure you verify if the Cloud Proxy needs to be updated first, by following the steps in the Verify Cloud Proxy Version section.

Verify Cloud Proxy Version

Verify the your current Cloud Proxy version.

  1. Log into the VMware Aria Operations user interface as an administrative user.
  2. Navigate to the Data Sources > Cloud Proxies page.
  3. Note the version of the Cloud Proxies under the Version column.
  4. If any of the Cloud Proxies noted in step 3 are below the current version, that Cloud Proxy is out of date and should be upgraded. Proceed to the Upgrade Cloud Proxy section if you have one or more Cloud Proxies out of date.

 

Upgrade Cloud Proxy

Choose one of the following options, depending if the Cloud Proxy is Online or Offline as seen from the Status column from the Data Sources > Cloud Proxies page.

Cloud Proxy is Online

Cloud Proxy is Offline


Note: For service hygiene, all the Cloud Proxies should be online.
