Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
The owner of an Amazon Web Service (AWS) virtual machine managed by vRealize Automation (vRA) disappears.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.6.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.2.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.4.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.5.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.1.x

Cause

If the VCAC Owner tag, attached to the machine in AWS is modified to contain anything else other than the actual vRA owner in UPN format, the IaaS components treat the machine as having no owner.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution to this problem. See the Workaround section.

Workaround:
Modify the vCAC Owner tag to include only the vRA owner in UPN format (username@domain).
