Issue/Introduction

Question:

Currently the Subject line for all email alerts triggered by Introscope contain "Subject: Introscope Alert Message". Is there a way to make the Subject customizable to add better context about the triggered alert and metrics affected ?

 

Answer:

With older versions of Introscope Email Alerts were not customizable out of the box and either required a field extension or custom shell scripting to modify subject and other fields; however starting with APM 9.7 this functionality is available out of the box. In 9.7 or higher, SMTP Email Notification Actions that are created via APM Webview UI allow both email subject as well as body to be fully customized so it can provide richer context to the problem when associated Alert is triggered.

In addition it also provides features such as:

-Support for Multiple email addresses in To field(space or semicolon separated)

-Email Headers for efficient routing of emails

-Support for dynamic Alert parameters

-Support for SSL\TLS Connections
