Symptoms:

How to get rid of HTTP send failed messages in sysmon log

It may appear that you have the following messages in the sysmon log:

Mar 19 11:12:22 -466602016#2: ...sendRqstHeaders: end

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

These errors are occurring due to the fact that the SysAdmin console is no longer present.

Due to security issues the SysAdmin console is no longer installed by default starting with Smarts NCM 9.1.

 

Resolution

To stop these errors the Sysadmin console needs to be installed.  Run the following script in the $VOYENCE_HOME/tools folder in order to install the SysAdmin console:

 

$VOYENCE_HOME/tools/install_sysadmin.pl

 

After the installation the sysadmin console will be reachable at http://<NCM>:8080/SysAdmin and the above HTTP send failed errors will stop appearing in the sysmon log.
