Smarts NCM/Smarts SAM: SAM is not synchronizing with NCM; Smarts Integration Adapter is not working; Error: FATAL Unable to attach to server

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

The Smarts NCM vc_smarts_adaptor.log file (TOMCAT_HOME/log/vc_smarts_adaptor.log) shows the following (where x.x.x.x is the SAM servers IP address):

[2013-08-07 11:30:49,828] service.SamService INFO  Closing SAM connection

[2013-08-07 11:30:49,828] service.SamService FATAL  Unable to attach to server '[email protected]'.

[2013-08-07 11:30:49,829] service.SamService ERROR  Could not post notification

Cause

New devices discovered in Smarts SAM are not being passed to Smarts NCM when using the Integration Adaptor for EMC Smarts because incorrect credentials are being supplied by the adaptor to the Smarts SAM server.

Resolution

Ensure that the correct credentials are supplied for the connection from the Smarts NCM integration adaptor to the Smarts SAM server.
