Issue/Introduction

NullPointerException is noticed in GUI when discovery is scheduled.

Environment

NCM - 10.1.x

Resolution

When 'NullPointerException' errors appear in the NCM GUI, please collect the following logs for support:

  • On the client computer from where NCM is launched:
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<user>\VoyenceControl\logs\<ip or hostname of NCM>.
    • Collect the 'uiClient.txt' log.

  • On an NCM Application Server:
    • Navigate to $VOYENCE_HOME/ncmcore/logs.
    • Collect the server.log and powerup.log for the time frame of the event.

  • Alternatively, user can navigate to $VOYENCE_HOME/tools, run ./saveLogs.pl all --save-rolled-logs.
