Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Network Configuration Manager will fail to pull configuration information when trying IOS drivers for IOS-XR. The router clearly states in NCM that it's Cisco IOS-XR after upgrading, but when it tries to pull the configs, memory, ARP Table, and Vlan.dat it thinks that its Cisco IOS.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Resolution

The issue caused by and old java cache. If you clear the java cache this issue will be resolved.

Following are the steps to clear java cache.

1) Go to Control panel and click on Java
2) Under Java select General -> Settings
3) Click on option Delete Files

The other way to clear cache is:

1) Go to cmd Prompt and type "javaws -viewer" which will open Java Cache Viewer.
2) Select all the NCM application and delete.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are running an NCM GUI via a Citrix connection or through some type of virtual connection to get the NCM GUI this doesn't apply and you must delete the device and rediscover it.
