Smarts NCM: Getting "HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.StingIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 5" after successfully logging into the Device Driver Tool (DDT).

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Customers might experience the following error after successfully logging into the Device Driver Tool and clicking "To proceed, click here to continue." 

"HTTP Status 500 - java.lang.StingIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 5" 

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Resolution

To resolve the issue please do the following:

1. Log into CLI of the Application Server as Root. 
2. Set the variable by running the following command:
               source /etc/voyence.conf
3. Navigate to the following directory:
               $VOYENCE_HOME/custompackage/ddtDrivers/beans
4. Remove the _.qadd file by running the following command:
               rm -f _.qadd
5. Now try and access the Device Driver Tool.
