Smarts NCM: DS evdispatch does not stop during vcmaster stop. Must use kill -9 on the pid.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Device Server eventdispachd service does not stop during vcmaster stop. In order to stop it you must use kill -9 on the pid.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

In the /etc/init.d/voyence file the "evdispatch" is missing the "d" need to be corrected to "evdispatchd"

Resolution

Please follow the directions below to correct the issue.
1. Log into the Device Server CLI with root privileges.
2. Edit the /etc/init.d/voyence file
3. Search for "killall -s SIGKILL -q evdispatch"
4. Correct the spelling from "evdispatch" to reflect "evdispatchd".. Notice the "d". 
5. Complete a restart by running "service voyence restart"
