Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
Smarts NCM is only pulling one System and Admin context for a single management IP address, when there are multiple contexts running on the Cisco ASA 5520 device.
Environment
VMware Smart Assurance - NCM
Cause
Smarts NCM was designed in earlier product versions so that each System and Admin context must have its own distinct IP address and authentication credentials, and use the Cisco-esq run/start config command. Discovery of these devices is only possible through the command line interface (CLI).
Resolution
As of the date this article was approved (Jan 2014), Smarts NCM cannot pull multiple System and Admin contexts from a Cisco device using a single management IP address.
