Symptoms:


This article explains how to collect logs when the savelogs.pl script is not present in the server where Report Adviser is installed, because Report Adviser is installed on its own server separate from the Smarts NCM Application Server (AS) or Device Server (DS).

Cannot collect RA logs from Smarts NCM Report Advisor server

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Resolution

The saveLogs.pl script can be copied from the existing Smarts Application Server (AS) or Device Server (DS) and used on the Report Adviser server (see Notes). This can be done as follows:
  1. Place saveLogs.pl script copied from the AS or DS (or from the attached script file) in the $VOYENCE_HOME/tools directory on the Report Adviser server.
  2. Give the required permissions to this file with the following command:
chmod 755 saveLogs.pl
  1. After running the chmod command, the saveLogs.pl script will function on the Report Adviser server as it is does for the Smarts NCM AS and DS.
