This article explains why Wine is part of the Smarts NCM installation and whether it can be removed.
The Wine RPM is automatically installed as part of the Smarts Network Configuration Manager Installation on all versions. However, it is only required for Solaris NCM installations with the use of Nortel's Site Manager EMS. Wine is designed to allow pulls against Baystack or Nortel routers.
Wine is only required if you decide to use Nortel Site Manager EMS on a Solaris installation. If you are not using the Nortel Site Manager on Solaris, the Wine RPM can be safely removed from NCM.
To uninstall the Wine RPM, do the following:
-
Get the exact package name:
rpm -qa | grep -i wine
-
Uninstall the package:
rpm -e <packagename>
Command Example
rpm -e wine-0.9.2-1centos4winehq
