NCM: Is it ok to delete the file /opt/smarts-ncm/bin/sysmon or change its permissions?

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

A user wants to know if he can delete the file sysmon located at /opt/smarts-ncm/bin as part of a server hardening activity

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Resolution

Sysmon is not functional unless you run the script install_sysadmin.pl.
 

You can run the command "sysmon stop" to stop sysmon daemon or you can delete the file.
