Smarts NCM: Exporting fields with lots of characters to .csv format causes misaligned reports

Symptoms:


Users who export larger reports in to *.csv format will have formatting problems with comma's

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

There is a 1500 character comma restriction per cell on with .csv files. Once 1500 characters is reached per cell, any commas in quotes "," after will be treated as separation in the report..

Resolution

This is a limitation of .cvs files and there is no resolution.
