Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Schedule or Pull jobs won't run and error immediately after clicking on "Approve and Submit"

Pulls, Jobs, or scheduled jobs will fail immediately after clicking on "Approve and Submit" 

The server.postmaster will have the following error messages:

SessionId:54dfb181.77b2 - TransId:1422119 - DETAIL:  Key (job_id)=(\233\0211\366\213\221\336?\031DB\212K\001\000\000) is not present in table "cm_job".

SessionId:54dfb181.77b2 - TransId:1422119 - STATEMENT:  insert into cm_job_credential (version, job_id, name, user_name, user_password, user_priv_password, creation_time, last_update_time, override, e_salt, job_credential_id) values ($1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6, $7, $8, $9, $10, $11)

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

Credential issue with using "User Prompt" in the Global Credentials Configuration in the System Administration Screen.

Resolution

There is no resolution at this time, however it is to be corrected in NCM 9.4 Patch 1.  The work around at this is to change the from "Prompt User" setting to "Use Static Device Assignment" and select apply. This will cause an error when you click on apply, but the changes do apply. As shown below:

 

Then complete a vcmaster restart to have to the credentials refresh.
