Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


While executing a pull config job, it fails with the following error:


[PhysicalHardware] Action completed with a warning...
Pulling device hardware inventory from ENTITY-MIB

Object [HardwareElement:HardwareElement_RDN_0000000002] : Missing required attribute [type] min(1)

Object [HardwareElement:HardwareElement_RDN_0000000003] : Missing required attribute [type] min(1)

Object [HardwareElement:HardwareElement_RDN_0000000066] : Missing required attribute [type] min(1)

Object [HardwareElement:HardwareElement_RDN_0000000067] : Missing required attribute [type] min(1)

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

The issue applies to Cisco devices.

Check the walk files of the device in question for the following oid: 
General entity mib definition entPhysicalClass (1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5):

This issue is caused when this oid (index 1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5) has values greater than those allowed by Cisco, that value being any value up to and including "12". 

For instance, in this case the device had values for 1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5 as follows:

.1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5.1001 = 13
.1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5.1002 = 14
.1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5.2001 = 13
.1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.5.2002 = 14

Resolution

This is an Agent bug from Cisco where it is reporting a invalid value, please contact Cisco for resolution.
