This article explains the specifications that can provide maximum efficiency in an environment where Smarts NCM 9.x needs to process large numbers of jobs in a distributed or combined environment.
For maximum efficiency of Smarts NCM job processing, EMC Customer Service for Smarts NCM recommends that customers schedule pull jobs in such a way that they process about 2000 devices at once and then schedule the next batch after 25 minutes, meaning schedule 2000 devices every 25 minutes. Environments with small networks with 200 or 300 devices can combine the networks together to reach the 2000 device count. If you plan to increase the number of devices in future for your small network, you will need to modify your batch sizes to continue to ensure above conditions are met for the 2000 device count per 25-minute batch.
