Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:


Cannot add devices in Smarts NCM because the devices are pulling wrong device class and the device model is "UNKNOWN".



Devices discovered in Smarts NCM are pulling the wrong device class and device model is "UNKNOWN". The device is not certified in the latest Dsr and no changes are added to Smarts NCM /opt/voyence/custompackage.

Example
Actual device model is MDS 9148 but devices are pulling device driver of SamsungRouter.

Resolution

If you encounter this issue, do the following:

1. From Smarts NCM System Administrator window, select Override Global device class settings > Manage list.
2. Remove the incorrect device class. For example, if the actual device is MDS 9148 and the device is pulling SamsungRouter class, remove the SamsungRouter device class.
3. Re-discover the devices.
