Resolution

At this time it is not possible to update/modify the driver of an existing device where the physical hardware has changed AND retain device history. An enhancement request has been submitted to add the feature in a future release.

Here are the details of the enhancement request submission:

1. Provide a solution that allows a customer to update the hardware of a device and change the driver class without losing the history of the device (and without having to move the device to an 'archived network' container and rediscovering the new hardware in the desired network).

2. Provide a way to disable rollback to a previous config (example: a 'no rollback' button that can be enabled/disabled) for all devices at a specific point in the config history.

If you are looking for this feature, please open an SR and reference this KB. If you have additional recommendations specific to the above points, please provide a detailed description in the SR and that information can be added to the Enhancement Request.
