Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Device which have a + in the model name are not discovered

Autodiscovery fails with messages like:

Oct 08 09:16:41 :-225293456/156.149.190.226@2/snmp#4: Executing function "Cisco IOS Switch::discoverDevice"...failed!
Oct 08 09:16:41 :-225293456/156.149.190.226@2/snmp#4: discoverDriverViaSnmp: x.x.x.x: SCRIPT FAILED

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Resolution

As an example a customer adds the following to the Cisco.models file: WS-C2960+24PC-L
This will result in device discovery failure

The correct entry to add is to word PLUS instead of the + symbol namely WS-C4510RPlusE. The NCM code will then convert this into a + in the GUI and discovery will work fine.
