Cause

This warning occurs if the IP information from the guest is not properly configured. For example, the IP information is not in a proper IPv4 or IPv6 format.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure that these IP information from the guest are configured properly:
  • IP addresses of the guest operating system
  • DNS IP
  • Primary WINS IP
  • Secondary WINS IP
  • Any CIDR information
This warning does not impact virtual machine or host functionality.

Additional Information

Note: If you have many virtual machines in your environment, one option to identify the virtual machine whose IP information may not be properly configured is to migrate the virtual machines one by one to another host until the warning message moves to that host's hostd.log file. This indicates that the IP information of the last virtual machine you migrated must be checked.
