Purpose: Detect and report when Sub-NUMA Clustering is activated on a bare metal Edge.
Impact: Sub-NUMA Clustering is not supported on the Edge and may lead to data path failing to start due to insufficient memory per NUMA node.
Environment
VMware NSX
Resolution
Steps to resolve
For release 4.2.0 and higher
Recommended Action:
Deactivate Sub NUMA Clustering in the BIOS Settings.
The Baremetal Edge must be power cycled to access the BIOS configuration to deactivate Sub-NUMA Clustering. This will result in some downtime, the length of which depends on the speed of Baremetal server reboot and manual re-configuration.
The above screenshot shows an example of how to disable Sub-NUMA Clustering on a Dell EMC R640 server by accessing the 'Processor Settings' sub-section of the BIOS.
For other types of servers please consult the documentation for your specific server make and model."
