Issue/Introduction

Title: Alarm for communication.management_channel_to_manager_node_down_long
Event ID: communication.management_channel_to_manager_node_down_long

Alarm Description

• Purpose: Indicates if messaging connection between Transport node and leader Manager node is down for more than 15 minutes.
• Impact: Monitoring status, stats and alarms cannot be sent by the Transport node to the leader Manager node.

Resolution

Steps to Resolve

For 3.2.0 and higher

 

Resolution:

1. Ensure there is network connectivity between the impacted Manager node and Transport node and no firewalls are blocking traffic between the nodes.
2. Ensure the messaging manager service is running on Manager nodes by invoking the command `/etc/init.d/messaging-manager status`. If the messaging manager is not running, restart it by invoking the command `/etc/init.d/messaging-manager restart`.
