Title: Alarm for pool_overloaded
Event ID: pool_overloaded

Alarm Description

  • Purpose: To indicate the number of free IP addresses in a DHCP pool is less than 20%.
  • Impact: If the customer continues to deploy more VMs, the IP pool could exhaust very soon.

Steps to Resolve
For 4.2.0 and higher
 
Recommended Action:

Compare the number of IPs of the DHCP pool to the number of the active VMs. Consider reducing the lease time on the DHCP server configuration if the number of VMs is less than the number of active leases. Also, consider expanding the pool range for the DHCP server by the below procedure:

    1. From your browser, log in with admin privileges to an NSX Manager at https://<nsx-manager-ip-address>.
    2. Select Networking Segments.
    3. Find the segment where you want to configure the DHCP service. Next to the segment name, click ,
    4. and then click Edit.
    5. Click EDIT DHCP Config.
    6. Enlarge the DHCP range or add a new DHCP range.
    7. Click Apply.
