Issue/Introduction

Title: Alarm for high_availability.tier1_gateway_failover
Event ID: high_availability.tier1_gateway_failover
Alarm Description
  • Purpose: To inform users a tier1 service router has state changed on edge. It may not mean service router has an issue. Please check events from syslog around the time of failover.
  • Impact: Failover could be triggered by various factors, including peer state. If state change is expected, traffic should be picked up by the active service router.

Resolution

Steps to resolve
For 4.1.0 and higher

Recommendation Action:

  • Check the events from syslog to identify why the node is down
  • Invoke the NSX CLI command `get logical-router ` to identify the tier1 service-router vrf ID. Switch to the vrf context by invoking `vrf <id> ` then invoke `get high-availability status` to determine the service that is down.
