Alarm Description

• Purpose: Notifying the status of the DNS forwarder as being offline.
• Impact: This may lead to VMs being unable to resolve domain names.

Steps to Resolve

For 4.2.0 and higher

 

Recommended Action:

Follow the below procedure to check the DNS forwarder status in the UI.

1. 1. With admin privileges, log in to NSX Manager.
   2. Select Networking > IP Management > DNS.
   3. Find the DNS service you need to check.
   4. Review the status column for the DNS service.  

Follow the below procedure to disable and re-enable the Admin Status of the DNS forwarder.

1. 1. With admin privileges, log in to NSX Manager.
   2. Select Networking > IP Management > DNS.
   3. Find the DNS service you need to enable.  Next to the service name, click …
   4. Click Edit
   5. Click the Admin Status toggle to disable the DNS service.
   6. Click Save.
   7. Edit and click the Admin Status again
   8. Click Save.
