Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• View Composer fails to create desktops in a VMware Cloud Foundation VDI Workload Domain
• In the View Administrator portal, you see an error generated similar to:

View Composer Fault: Virtual Machine with input specifications already exists

• An external Active Directory infrastructure is in use.
• Computer objects exist in the Active Directory OU created for Virtual Desktops that have names that are the same as the Virtual Desktops being provisioned via VMware Cloud Foundation.

Cause

This issue can occur when the Active Directory OU for the Virtual Desktops already has computer objects present with names that are the same as the ones being created.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure that the Active Directory OU for Virtual Desktops does not contain any pre-existing computer objects.
