About the product

Rising VM System Security is China's first enterprise-class virtualization security solution, supporting unified management in virtualized and non-virtualized environments. It provides anti-virus capability on VMware NSX, Windows and Linux environment.

This product is mainly for sale in China now, relevant documents and online service are currently provided in Chinese language.

VMware product versions required for the certification:​
  • VMware NSX version 6.2.4, 6.3.0
  • VMware ESXi version 5.5, 6.0, 6.5
  • vCenter Server version 6.5

Steps and Link to how to collect logs from partner SVM:

Collection of EPSec/NetX logs from partner SVM and Partner Manager:
  • For Service Manager logs – log on to the operating system and log files are located at %programdata%\Rising\Rvs\Log.
  • For SVM logs – ssh in to SVM and log files are located at /usr/local/svm/log.
Application of Filter rules (for debugging): Product documentation with specific reference points: Downloads site – Rising Self-service Platform
  • You will require a credential to log on and download Rising products.
Steps to upgrade from previous partner solution versions:
  • The upgrade will be done automatically via the Internet.

Sample problematic scenarios and how to address them

Scenario 1 - ODS / OAS dose not show correct virus results when guest vm is infected.

Solution:

There are several reason for this symptoms, such as no anti-virus license, secproxy process crash, or OAS off.
Check the following list:
  • Make sure SVM is powered on.
  • Make sure secproxy is authorized (authorized if file exists: /usr/local/svm/etc/user/serial/serial)
  • Make sure secproxy exists. If not, restart it or restart SVM.
  • Make sure IP address for network adapter eth1 is connectable.
  • Make sure OAS is ON in policy configuration on Service Manager.
  • OAS will ignore files when CPU is overload.
