Related alerts missing after reinstalling a Solution PAK in vRealize Operations Manager 6.7 - 8.0.1

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• After reinstalling a Solution PAK with only the Install the PAK file even if it is already installed option selected, the Alert Definitions, Symptom Definitions, and Recommendations related to the Solution PAK get deleted.
• Any active alerts related to the Solution PAK are canceled automatically.

Environment

VMware vRealize Operations Manager 7.5.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 7.0.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.7.x
VMware vRealize Operations 8.0.x

Cause

This is a known issue affecting vRealize Operations Manager 6.7 - 8.0.1.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, upgrade to vRealize Operations Manager 8.1 available at VMware Downloads.
The Solution PAK can then be reinstalled with only the Install the PAK file even if it is already installed option.

Workaround:
To work around this issue in vRealize Operations Manager 6.7, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0.0, or 8.0.1, reinstall the Solution PAK checking both Install the PAK file even if it is already installed and Reset Default Content options.
