Issue/Introduction
To improve user experience, as of vSphere 6.7 Update 1, we are replacing the multitude of articles for vSphere maintenance releases with a single release notes file that contains all the necessary information.
This change affects both ESXi and vCenter Server going forward.
Resolution
Change in Release Notes:
For ESXi, the new format for release notes splits the resolved issues not by category (e.g. Install, Upgrade, Security) but by bulletin/image profile name. Bulletin and image profile links are going to anchors within the release notes file, not to individual articles that used to be external links.
For vCenter Server, the new format for release notes contains the patch information and how to apply the patch in the release notes file.
Change in Patch Portal:
Along with release notes, we have also improved the user experience on the Patch Portal, facilitating access to information in the release notes file.
For ESXi, the change is applied to the Build Number, Description and Bulletin Number columns and they now contain active hyperlinks to the respective sections in the ESXi release notes file.
Similarly, for vCenter Server we changed the Description column and it now contain active hyperlinks to the respective vCenter Server release notes file.
