[VMC on AWS] vCenter unavailable after uploading VM Files

Issue/Introduction

Detail a known M18 issue

Symptoms:
VMC vCenter becomes unavailable when uploading VMDK files to the datastore browser via UI or PowerCLI.

Cause

Uploading a disk in Stream Optimized VMDK format to the workload datastore will crash the VPXD service on vCenter.

Resolution

The VMC Service Teams are working towards a resolution to this issue to be included in a future M18 release build.

Workaround:
Upload VM templates in an OVA format through Web UI or PowerCLI.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
This impacts SDDC version M18v1 only. vCenter UI may be unavailable for a period of time. Any active HCX Migrations to/from the SDDC will be impacted.
Workload VMs will not get impacted and will continue to run.
