Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
NSX Edge Memory Pool Exhaustion due to high firewall connection count.

Cause

The high connection count could be from normal traffic, from many systems. It could also be a flood of traffic that is transient and will automatically recover. It could also be from an accumulation of connections that did not get cleaned up.

Resolution

Monitoring solutions, or auditing solutions, are able to provide reports on the usage patterns to help determine the sources of the load. More resources may need to be added, by increasing the size of the NSX edge nodes. Or, maybe there are rogue systems creating too much load, which can be disconnected to reduce the load.
